‘World Class Rapid Digitization of Cultural Heritage’

Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica

Picturae digitizes the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica and makes the collection online available.

Writer Dan Brown (Da Vinci Code) has donated € 300.000,- to the Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica (BPH) to digitize a part of the unique collection of books about Hermetic, alchemy, mystic, Rosicrucian and kabbalah.

Thanks to his donation the core collection, existing of about 4,600 books, dating from before 1900 will become available online. Picturae helps the BPH by digitization and unlocking the collection on the internet.

Brown is an admirer of the library (internationally known under the name The Ritman Library after its founder Joost R. Ritman) and visited it various times during the writing process of his books The Lost Symbol and Inferno.
