Deltae an overwhelming success!
On 14 June 2012, Picturae introduced its quality management tool Deltae at the IS&T Archiving Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark. In view of the overwhelming response from the audience, Deltae is expected to be used by numerous institutions worldwide.
Deltae web service
Delt.ae is a web service for every professional involved in image quality management and aims to preserve the quality of images all over the world according to the highest possible standards. Following the introduction on 14 June the beta version of the website will be live for a three-month test period. The costs of the maintenance activities will be deter- mined via a costs databank. The reactions to the website will then be processed so that any improvements can be made.
The Universal Test Target reader for photographic reproduction is designed to manage the consistency of any chosen quality. Anyone in the world can use the tool to upload a photo. By comparing the measured values against a selected quality norm it determines the quality of the image.
In addition, the tool recognises the most important test targets and reads out the values objectively. Results can be linked to projects and sets of records and be exported to xml format.
How it all started
The tool was set up by professionals both from Picturae and TU Delft, with the help of contributions from colleagues and expertise from all over the world. It all stemmed from a general concern about guaranteeing image quality for digital reproduction.
