Track Record
Since 1997, we have digitized millions of collection items; from bound manuscripts and archival records to herbarium sheets and entomological specimens. Our experience spans national programs, institutional digitization strategies and multi-year collection digitization projects. 800,000 herbarium specimens
The Singapore Botanic Gardens has embarked on its largest digitization effort ever, launching an ambitious project to digitize around 800,000 herbarium specimens. Marking both a 150-year legacy and a decade as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the initiative sets a new benchmark for global botanical preservation.
4.3 Million Specimens
We are proud to share a major milestone of our digitization journey with Italy’s National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC), in collaboration with the University of Padua and the University of Florence. What began as an ambitious vision years ago has now become a reality: more than 4,300,000 herbarium specimens from Italian botanical collections have been digitized using Picturae’s conveyor technology.
5 Million Specimens
Naturalis Biodiversity Center houses 37 million biological and geological objects, making it one of the world’s leading biodiversity research institutions. To increase global accessibility, Picturae digitized the entire herbarium collection (5 million specimens) using high-throughput, precision imaging systems and structured metadata workflows. The project transformed a vast physical collection into research-ready digital data, now accessible to scientists worldwide.
