Picturae will attend the TDWG 2026 Annual Conference in Oslo from 21-25 September, where our engineering team will present the technical thinking behind DEEP by Picturae.
This year’s conference focuses on “Research and Robot-ready Biodiversity Data Standards” – a theme closely connected to the challenge DEEP is designed to address.
Digitization makes natural history specimens visible, but much of their scientific information can remain locked inside handwritten and printed labels. DEEP by Picturae goes beyond image capture and transcription, transforming that information into accurate, structured, and connected research data.
During the presentation, “Tackling the Transcription Bottleneck: A Multi-Agent AI Approach for Collections,” David Thornley will introduce the approach behind the platform and explore how AI can support data extraction and enrichment at scale while preserving collection context and expert oversight.
