Picturae Diamond Sponsor of SPNHC-TDWG 2024
Last week, the second combined SPNHC-TDWG conference since 2018 took place in Okinawa, Japan. Picturae was Diamond Sponsor of this conference, where the communities of SPNHC and TWDG came together to learn from each other.
SPNHC-TDWG 2024
SPNHC and TDWG are non-profit organizations dedicated to providing a platform for natural history institutions to connect, share, and advance in their respective endeavors. Every year, both organizations plan their own conference, but this year, SPNHC and TDWG combined their forces and hosted SPNHC-TDWG 2024 in Okinawa, Japan. SPNHC`s main goal is to preserve natural history collections, where TDWG focusses on developing biodiversity information standards. Bringing these two centers of expertise together allowed researchers from the differing worlds of collections management and data management to share their lesson’s learned and inspire deeper collaboration between the thousands of biodiversity collections around the world.

Picturae continues to be a proud sponsor of both SPNHC and TDWG conferences. As a company focusing on the digitization of natural history collections to make that data accessible to all, Picturae is a firm supporter of the visions of both SPNHC and TDWG. For this reason, Picturae was a Diamond Sponsor for the second year in a row. We saw many familiar and new attendees at our booth in the main hall. Our joint presentation with the California Academy of Sciences regarding our herbarium project together was a lot of fun to share. We even had time to play bingo and give out a bag of Picturae swag along with some local (and tasty) Okinawan snacks!
